Allu Arjun to Appear Before Police in Connection with Stampede Incident
Actor Allu Arjun is set to meet with the police on Tuesday morning as part of the ongoing investigation into a tragic stampede that occurred during the screening of his film Pushpa 2: The Rule on December 4. The stampede at the Sandhya Theatre in Hyderabad resulted in the death of a 35-year-old woman, while her eight-year-old son was hospitalized.
According to PTI, Chikkadpally Police Inspector Raju Naik confirmed that Allu Arjun has been served with a notice to appear before the police at 11 a.m. The notice follows the actor’s earlier commitment to fully cooperate with the investigation. It was issued after police commissioner CV Anand released a video detailing the sequence of events that led to the stampede.
The city police have filed a case against Allu Arjun, his security team, and the theatre management under various sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) in response to the incident. The case was registered based on a complaint filed by the family of the deceased woman.
On December 13, Allu Arjun, listed as the 11th accused, was briefly taken into custody. However, the Telangana High Court granted him a four-week interim bail on the same day, and he was released from jail on the morning of December 14.
New Controversy Over Scene in Pushpa 2: The Rule
In a separate development, a Congress leader in Telangana, Theenmar Mallanna, has filed a complaint against Allu Arjun, claiming that a scene from Pushpa 2: The Rule insults the police force. Mallanna, who filed the complaint with the Medipally police station, has also named the film’s director Sukumar and the producers.
The controversial scene in question depicts the film’s protagonist urinating in a swimming pool while a police officer is present in it. Mallanna argues that this scene is disrespectful and degrades the dignity of police officials. He has called for strict action to be taken against the portrayal of the police in the film, which he views as offensive.
The complaints and investigations highlight ongoing controversies surrounding Pushpa 2: The Rule, with Allu Arjun now facing scrutiny not only for the stampede incident but also for the portrayal of police in the film. As these cases unfold, the actor’s response and cooperation with authorities will be closely watched.
