New Delhi: Former Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, aged 92, was admitted to the emergency ward of AIIMS Delhi on Thursday evening after a sudden deterioration in his health, according to a report by the Press Trust of India.

Hospital sources confirmed that Mr. Singh’s condition is critical. However, the exact medical reason for his hospitalization remains unclear at this time. The veteran Congress leader, who served as India’s Prime Minister from 2004 to 2014, has faced various health challenges in the past, including undergoing multiple treatments and procedures.

As of now, the hospital has not issued an official statement regarding his current condition. Sources indicate that a team of senior doctors at AIIMS is closely monitoring his health, and further updates are expected as more details emerge.

Mr. Singh, widely respected for his economic expertise and statesmanship, has largely remained out of public life due to health-related concerns in recent years. The news of his critical condition has drawn widespread attention, with political leaders and well-wishers expressing their concern and hoping for his swift recovery.
